In less than a week’s time, school buses, halls and desks throughout Goshen County will fill with student’s fresh off summer break.
And the Cowboy State is an above-average place to learn, according to personal finance website WalletHub, which ranks Wyoming’s school system at 12th nationwide.
Analysts listed the top-10 school systems in the U.S. as Massachusetts (No. 1), New Jersey, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Virginia, Minnesota, Maryland, Wisconsin and Colorado. North Dakota came in just above Wyoming at No. 11. Neighboring state Nebraska is 14th overall.
Specifically, Wyoming earned the fifth place spot for highest math test scores (behind Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey and Virginia) and highest median SAT scores (Illinois, Missouri and Wisconsin are tied for first, followed by Minnesota, and Iowa is tied with Wyoming for fifth).
