A winter storm moving into the Central Plains this weekend could make travel hazardous across a broad area Saturday into Monday.
The National Weather Service says light freezing drizzle could occur Saturday across all of western and central Nebraska, including Interstate 80.
Snow is forecast to begin Saturday night in the Panhandle and move eastward Sunday. In some areas, the snow could be heavy, and those areas may see drifting and blowing snow into Monday — even after the storm moves out.
Forecasters advise anyone with travel plans to monitor conditions.
In Omaha, there’s a slight chance of freezing drizzle Saturday night, rain on Sunday and snow on Monday, according to the weather service.
The forecast will become clearer as the storm gets closer.
