A 6-year-old girl is recovering after being accidentally shot in the arm.
The incident happened just before 6:00 on Monday evening at a home on the 200 block of Van Buren in Oregon.
According to a release, officers found the little girl with a gun shot wound to the arm. Police determined the girl was accidentally shot after her 7-year-old brother found a .25 caliber pistol in a dresser drawer.
The girl was taken to a nearby hospital and her injuries are considered non-life threatening.
Oregon police say the kids were with their father at his friend’s house when the accident occurred.
The 53-year-old homeowner is facing charges of felony child endangering. In an interview with 13abc, Chief Mike Navarre says the kids’ father may also face charges.
