Last month, 28 people died on Nebraska roads, including three pedestrians, three motorcyclists and one person on an ATV.
Additionally, one of the deaths involved a crash with a deer.
The importance of wearing a seat belt is apparent in the statistics. Thirteen of the 22 who were in vehicles were not wearing a seat belt, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Likewise, through the first nine months of the year, 65 percent of vehicle occupants killed in crashes in Nebraska were not wearing seat belts.
