Two Oregon men died Sunday after one of them blew past a stop sign and hit a motorhome in Clackamas County, troopers say.
The Oregon State Police said a preliminary investigation shows Jesus David Jay Tharp, a 33-year-old Colton resident, failed to stop at a stop sign on Oswald Road at Oregon 211 and hit a motorhome. Tharp and his passenger, 28-year-old Dylan James Taylor of Burns, died at the scene.
Estacada residents Steven Gary Davis, 67, and Jeanette Sue Davis, 54, were in the motorhome, troopers said. They suffered injuries that didn’t threaten their lives and were taken to a hospital.
Tharp was driving a 2005 Mini Cooper, troopers said. Authorities initially responded to the crash, which happened west of Colton, about 9:15 a.m.
